Making Comics 101 with Rhael McGregor and Natalie Mark

In this 6 week specialized course, students will familiarize themselves with the comic making process. They will deepen their visual literacy skills while making a comic zine of their own! Taught by local industry professionals Rhael McGregor and Natalie Mark, with all materials provided. This is an in-person course, occurring at the Prairie Comics Festival studio space, 611-70 Arthur Street.

Course Project:

Students will create a 3 sheet comic zine consisting of a 2 page black and white comic, 2 page black and white comic, a 4 page colour comic, covers, and interiors complete with an artist bio. Portions will be completed in class and as homework assignments. This is a flexible project with the possibility of the workload/page count being halved.
